Abstract

On April 17, 2013, a bill to reform the current immigration law and a path to legalization for millions of undocumented immigrants residing in the United States before December 31, 2011, was introduced in the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary. The “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013” was co-sponsored by eight (8) senators from both political parties, Democrats (D) and Republicans (R), they are known as the “Gang of Eight”.
